On Sunday, June 7th, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12 noon the Lawrence Cedarhurst Fire Department will be conducting a training operation at 376 Church Avenue at the corner of Church and West Broadway in the Village of Cedarhurst.
During the training operation the fire department will be using smoke to simulate a burning home, and you may see and smell the smoke. The Fire Department will not be setting the home on fire. You, your family and your property will not be in any danger.
The fire hydrant is located on West Broadway and a portion of the road will be closed. In addition, some fire apparatus might block driveways. If you need your car between those hours we would recommend moving your car off the block before 10 AM for your convenience. However, we have been assured by the Fire Department that they will accommodate requests for access.
These training exercises are critically important to keep our firefighters in top shape for their safety and yours.
