The Tax and Assessment Department is responsible for assessing all properties within the Village of Cedarhurst. The Village maintains detailed records of property ownership, exemptions, assessed values, and physical changes to parcels. The department also prepares and manages the assessment roll, tax roll, billing, and collection processes.

Owner / Mailing Changes
The Village will only accept owner or mailing address changes in writing. Please follow the guidelines below for submitting updates:
New owners must provide a signed letter with the following:
- Updated mailing address for all future bills
- Property address
- Section, block, and lot
- A copy of the recorded deed
To file a satisfaction of mortgage we require a letter stating where future bills should be mailed along with a copy of the satisfaction.
Mailing changes require a letter stating where future bills are to be mailed and must include owner’s name, property address and section, block and lot.
Important: New owner information must be filed directly with the Village, even if it has already been filed with the County.
