We want to keep residents informed about utility work currently moving through parts of the Village. This project includes the installation of a new gas line and the replacement of aging sewer lines.
National Grid is replacing a gas main that is more than 100 years old. This is an important infrastructure upgrade, and once the new main is in place, homes along the route will be connected. National Grid or its contractors will contact homeowners directly to coordinate those connections.
Liberty Water will follow with sewer line replacement as work continues.
Construction is currently progressing along Cedarhurst Avenue, Oak Street, and Centre Street toward Summit Avenue, and will then make its way back toward Cedarhurst Avenue. Crews are moving block by block, and work has not yet been completed in all areas.
This is a three-phase project: gas installation, sewer replacement, and final paving. Once all underground work is complete, the roadway will be repaved curb-to-curb.
As crews move through the area, residents can expect ongoing construction activity, including excavation and some temporary traffic impacts. Access will remain open, although minor delays may occur.
