Greatest Comeback in History Watched in Cedarhurst

Hundreds of enthusiastic basketball fans filled Andrew J. Parise Park on Wednesday evening to witness what many are calling one of the greatest comebacks in sports history.

Hosted by the Village of Cedarhurst and the Merchants of Cedarhurst, the Village watch party brought everyone together to cheer on the Knicks as they faced the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Fans dressed in blue and orange packed the park with chairs and blankets, creating an electric atmosphere as the game unfolded on the big screen.

“The energy in the park was incredible,” said Mayor Benjamin Weinstock. “It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support the Knicks and share in such a memorable moment. Events like this showcase the strong sense of community that makes Cedarhurst such a special place.”

Adding to the significance of the evening, fans were reminded of Cedarhurst’s connection to Knicks history. Legendary Knicks coach Red Holzman, who led the team to 613 wins and the 1970 and 1973 NBA Championships, lived in Cedarhurst for 40 years. A clock tower honoring Holzman stands at the intersection of Central Avenue and Cedarhurst Avenue, serving as a lasting tribute to one of basketball’s greatest coaches.

The Village would like to thank all those who attended and helped make the event a success. As the Knicks move one step closer to a championship, Cedarhurst fans are hoping history continues to unfold both on the court and in the park.
