Wind Advisory for Today into Tomorrow

A high-wind advisory is in effect for today until 1 PM Thursday.  Residents should anticipate strong to potentially damaging winds, with speeds reaching 45 to 50 mph, primarily expected tonight.

Please be cautious and remember:

  • Avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.  Falling tree limbs and other wind-blown debris can cause serious injuries or death.  The safest place to be is indoors.
  • Any downed wire should be treated as though it is a live wire. Therefore, do not approach or drive over it, or touch anything it’s contacting.
  • Report a downed wire immediately to 911 or call PSEG at 1-800-490-0075.  Do not text or email PSEG for downed wires.  Doing that only slows down the response.
  • IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY CALL 911. DO NOT CALL THE LOCAL POLICE PRECINCT DIRECTLY.  THIS ONLY SLOWS DOWN THE RESPONSE TIME.
  • To report an electrical outage and receive status updates text “OUT” to PSEGLI (773454).  You can also report your outage through PESGLI’s app or website at www.psegliny.com/outages
