Proclamation on Peace Officers Memorial Day and Police week

Yesterday, President Donald J. Trump proclaimed May 15, 2020 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, and May 10th through May 15, 2020 as Police Week. His proclamation reminds us to commend the brave men and women of our law enforcement community for their unending courage and selfless dedication to helping those in need.  We also pause to remember our friends, neighbors, relatives and complete strangers who have lost their lives and who have suffered permanent disabilities defending their communities and the rule of law, including the heroes we have lost this year to the coronavirus.

In observance of these days, all flags shall be lowered to half-staff from dawn to dusk. This includes all flags on Village buildings and stationary flagstaffs throughout the Village of Cedarhurst.
