Published on | July 2, 2019

Incidents of identity theft are rising rapidly.  As you are probably aware, identity theft is the fastest growing crime in America today.  A major, contributing factor – one that is easily controlled – is how we discard of documents containing personal and financial information.  “Dumpster diving,” or rifling through trashcans for personal information, is a common tactic used by ID thieves.

The Nassau County Police Department has a new brochure that explains how your identity can be stolen and the steps you should take to prevent it.  Download a copy of the very useful Public Advisory Identity Theft booklet by clicking here.
