Remembering Our Former Mayor, Andy Parise

February 8, 2016 marks a year since our beloved Mayor, Andrew J. Parise passed away.  A man who dedicated his life not only to his Country, but to the Village he loved and called home his entire life.

Mayor Parise was a World War II Veteran who enlisted in the Army at age 18.  He served with the 312th Combat Engineers, 87th Infantry.  In December 1944, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge, where he was wounded after fighting 154 days on the front lines without relief.  He received the Purple Heart, three battle stars and other medals.  His Unit liberated the Buchenwald Concentration Camp and he was one of the first soldiers to enter the Camp.

In honor of our late Mayor, Mayor Weinstock, ordered the flags to be flown at half staff today in honor of this great man and to remember all that he did for our Country and our Village.
