Snow Removal

A snowfall is a beautiful site when it can be enjoyed. Let’s avoid many of the problems associated with snowstorms and the process of “digging out” by following these important suggestions to reduce the frustrations experienced by you and by our snow removal crews.

**Homeowners and businesses are responsible for clearing sidewalks.**

Do not throw snow into the street. Place it on the side of the sidewalk on your property. Leave space for pedestrians to walk.

When snow is forecasted, park your vehicle in your driveway. If vehicles are parked on the street, the snowplows will not be able to get through and do their job properly. Not only does this hamper their operation, but causes a disservice to your neighbor.

If you shovel your driveway apron before a plow comes through, always shovel to the right, facing the Street. This reduces the amount of snow that gets pushed back in your driveway by our plows.

**If you have an unusual circumstance with the above, please contact Village Hall for special arrangements (295-5770) **

Help out your neighbors, especially the infirmed or elderly. That’s what a good neighborhood is all about!

On behalf of the Board of Trustees and hardworking Village staff,  Let’s all do our share in keeping our beautiful Cedarhurst a winter wonderland that’s also safe and sound!

Sincerely,
